All Carbon Toyota Supra MK4

Carbon fibre has always been the must have elite composite material to lighten race cars and aerospace parts. High-end marques such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bugatti etc have been using carbon for decades. Majority of those high end European exotics enclosed front to rear in pure carbon fibre, as it should your paying so much for them. In the import tuning scene it’s quite rare to see extensive bodywork in custom carbon fibre due to its extremely high production costs . Most carbon fibre parts available out there are either cheaply made or there hand laid carbon fibre material over a raw medium and its usually only hoods, trunks and spoilers made. Here we have a full carbon 1994 Toyota Supra built by JapanTuning from Norway specifically built for destroying the Time Attack. Every original body panel was replaced with full carbon fibre with clear coating to protect from UV light. The carbon fibre parts were moulded off the original stock body parts except for the hood and front bumper.

The hood was moulded off the Top Secret Aero hood and the front bumper was from Ridox Aero Part front bumper.  The stock Supra is not exactly a light car to begin with, in fact its an heavyweight at 3486 lbs for the exported twin turbo models, however, with the full carbon body the weight loss was an astonishing 648 lbs leaving it at 2838 lbs at the scale. This of course is the largest benefit to the Supra and especially for a Time Attack machine looking to set some records. The cost of this full custom carbon fibre work is roughly $30,000! I can only wish I had that much to spend on just the body work of my car. Grip comes from some sticky Hoosier slicks 265/35R18 front and 315/30R18 rear on blacked out CCW C10 wheels at 18×11 front and 18×12 rear. Engine modifications include a single HKS T51R Kai turbo at 1,5 bar boost on 102 octane race fuel to produced 760rwhp. The turbo has this very unique high pitch sound that makes this particular turbo highly sought out by enthusiasts. The original turbo on the car was Boostlogic T6 turbo kit with GT4780 turbo but the owner wanted something smaller and lighter.

The T6 just wasn’t suitable to Time Attack; the switch made the car much more responsive. The addition of Carrillo Rods, CP Pistons, HKS 272 Cams, Greddy cam gears and belt, custom Intake, custom titanium exhaust, 5” down pipe, Titan Motorsports fuel-system with 1200cc, 3x Walbro 255 fuel pumps and much more were added to the engine side of things. To finish things off the suspension components are from Ikeya, adjustable wing from APR, custom race inspired digitalized dashboard that costs $20,000 I heard, custom roll cage, 4carbon fibre canards and stopping power from Euro-Spec Supra brakes. Personally I think with this much carbon fibre used I think the only other thing needed to complete the package is a set of wheels made in complete carbon fibre and carbon ceramic brakes. Now, I know 2JZ first hand as I use to own one the engine capability is outrageous being able to produce over 2000HP! The combination of an nearly indestructible engine and ultra light weight body is no doubt an motorsports enthusiast dream come true. What I want to see next is a full carbon fibre supra with 2000hp going down a drag strip.
